Mat Staver serves as Senior Pastor, Founder and Chairman of Liberty Counsel; Chairman of Liberty Counsel Action, Faith and Liberty, National Pro-life Center, Freedom Federation, Salt & Light Council, and National House of Hope; Founder and Chairman of Liberty Relief International; Vice President and Chief Counsel of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (which includes over 42,000 Evangelical Hispanic churches); former Vice President of Liberty University; former dean and tenured professor of law at Liberty University School of Law; Trustee of Timothy Plan, a New York and Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange-traded family of mutual funds; Trustee of the Supreme Court Historical Society; Member of the Board of Reference of the Christian Film and Television Commission; Member of the Board of Advisors of Care for Pastors; Founder and former President of Staver & Associates; and Founder and former President of The Staver Group. He has the highest AV rating given to attorneys by Martindale-Hubbell and is board certified in Appellate Practice.

Mr. Staver holds Bachelor, Master, and Juris Doctorate degrees and an honorary Doctorate of Law and Doctorate of Divinity. He has argued three landmark cases before the United States Supreme Court as lead counsel and written numerous briefs to the High Court. Mat has argued in numerous state and federal courts across the country and has over 250 published legal opinions. He has authored hundreds of popular articles, eight scholarly law review publications, numerous brochures, booklets, and books, including Eternal Vigilance: Knowing and Protecting Your Religious Freedom and Why Israel Matters.

Over the years, Mr. Staver has served on numerous boards, including The Timothy Plan, a New York Stock Exchange-traded family of mutual funds; National Houses of Hope, and the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference. Mr. Staver has testified before Congress in the U.S. House and Senate and served on the Commission on Accountability and Policy for Religious Organizations.

Mr. Staver produces and hosts Faith & Freedom, an 11-minute daily radio program, Freedom’s Call, a 60-second daily radio program, and Freedom Alive, a 30-minute weekly TV program. As a former pastor and one of the nation’s preeminent constitutional attorneys, he frequently appears as a guest on national network and cable TV and radio programs and also appears in several hundred print articles each year. He is married to Anita, who is also an attorney, as well as President and General Counsel of Liberty Counsel.
