Mark A. Elsasser

Mark A. Elsasser started politics in 2009 as co-founder and Communications Officer for College Republicans at Louisiana Tech University. There he designed graphics, including t-shirts, posters, and pamphlets, and engaged in campus debates around healthcare reform. He helped organize a drive to collect hundreds of petitions from students urging Senator Mary Landrieu to oppose the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare).

In June 2010, he interned for Senator David Vitter in the U.S. Capitol, and in 2011 began working for the local government in Monroe, Louisiana after graduating from Louisiana Tech with a B.A. in Political Science.

In May 2013, he moved to the Washington D.C. area to pursue work in the conservative movement and began working at the National Pro-Life Alliance managing their social media platforms in July. He soon became Director of Federal Legislation, lobbying Congress for the Life at Conception Act and other key pro-life legislation.

In 2015, he became Vice President for Legislation at the National Pro-Life Alliance. During his tenure, new record numbers of cosponsors for the Life at Conception Act have been set in three successive Congresses.
