Douglas Dahl has seven children and is a marketing manager for a fortune 500 company in the Pacific Northwest. He is the founder of aquietwater ministries dedicated to helping others connect to God in an often busy and distracted world. The words of British poet Robert Abrahams sum our problem up well, “For some men die by shrapnel, And some go down in flames, But most men perish inch by inch, In play at little games.”
The ministry work of aquietwater tries to ferret out these “little games” and put a stop to them placing the right weight on the right things in life (after all our “culture is religion externalized).” The ministry provides encouraging monthly emails as well as engaging the culture by social media. He also enjoys speaking about this when he has a spare moment.The Twelve Days of Thanksgiving: A Christian Guide to America’s Most Meaningful Holiday is his second book. It came out of the desire to make Thanksgiving Day more than just a flurry of food and activity for his family. The hope was to make the Thanksgiving season more Christ centered, remind each of us of the gratitude owed to those who came before us, and the importance Thanksgiving Day plays in revealing to us the heartbeat of our unique nation.
