David Moore II

Commissioner David Moore II is a devoted father of eight children, who values faith, family and community. After 15 years of working professionally as a managing editor for a multi-million-dollar worldwide organization, he decided to pursue his passion for communications and now excels as a freelance writer and coach. In 2016, David and his family made the life-changing decision to move to Kentwood, where they quickly fell in love with the warm and welcoming city. As a resident, he has actively participated in the community as a leader of a church, an educator and as a Parks and Recreation Commissioner from 2018 to 2023. His wife Dwell has also served on the Historic Preservation Commission for five years. Now, as a City Commissioner, David is dedicated to making Kentwood feel like home for all of its residents.
