This is the time to be sounding the alarm in America.

We’re in a place in this nation that I’m personally convinced—if it wasn’t for the faithfulness of God—we would be done.

We have crossed some lines as a nation and some serious things have taken place. And those things didn’t just happen randomly.

In Hosea 8:1-3 (Good News Translation), the Lord says “Sound the alarm! Enemies are swooping down on my land like eagles! My people have broken the covenant I made with them and have rebelled against my teaching. Even though they call me their God and claim that they are my people and that they know me they have rejected what is good. Because of this their enemies will pursue them.”

I believe that’s where America is right now. The enemies of God and the enemies of the United States have swooped down on this nation. They’re now in places of authority—in elected offices. There are people who are intent on destroying this nation.

God Commands Us to Know Our History

For those of you who think we should just be focusing on biblical or spiritual things as Christians, I want to tell you that history is very biblical, it’s very spiritual. It’s a command of God to know our history.

For instance, in Hebrews 10:32 (New King James Version), the Lord says, “recall the former days.” The Lord says throughout his Word, “remember the former times” (Is. 46:9, Wycliffe).

In Deuteronomy 4:9 (New Living Translation), it says “Be careful never to forget what you yourself have seen. Do not let these memories escape from your mind as long as you live! And be sure to pass them on to your children and grandchildren.”

Over the last few decades, our nation’s history has been scrubbed away from public schools. It’s not so much what teachers are saying—it’s what they fail to say. You would be shocked to learn what is being taught in classrooms.

If you have not heard of the 1619 Project, it claims that the United States was built on slavery and racism. Even though it is filled with so many falsehoods and nonfactual things, the 1619 Project is being used to create critical race theory curriculum for schools across the country.

America is not a perfect country. But if you look at the scope of world history and what America has done, we are the greatest nation on earth and a beacon for freedom and liberty.

The way America is portrayed to our children today is nothing short of a socialist/communist/Marxist ideology attempting to remove God from society.

Socialism sets the stage for communism, communism sets up government as ‘god,’ and the true God is out – kicked out completely. That is the fall of a nation.

All you need to do is take a look at any nation that rejected God and see the path our nation is going down. There is no country in any time period of history where socialism has worked. None!

‘One Nation Under God’

We are in a crisis situation. But this is still “one nation under God.”

As long as God’s people shake off the spirit of heaviness, get rid of the spirit of fear, walk in love, walk in power, and have a sound, disciplined mind (2 Tim. 1:7), America is going to stay “one nation under God!”

You see, what’s happening in our nation and our schools isn’t about political parties—it’s about light and darkness. Christians are called to be salt and light in the world (Matt. 5:13-16), to let their light “shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

God is dealing with the Body of Christ. He is moving on believers to drop their victim mentality and take hold of a victor mentality. Even though it may look dark, Christians are getting involved and making a difference.

In 2021, the Truth & Liberty Coalition worked to distribute non-partisan voter guides to churches across Colorado—including at both campuses of Church For All Nations in Colorado Springs. The voter guides were based on questionnaires that asked school board candidates where they stood on critical race theory, parental rights, boys playing in girls’ sports, sex education, and gender identity pronouns.

Some candidates refused to answer, but many did. Those guides helped voters make informed decisions, and we saw results. Conservative candidates were elected to school boards in districts in and around Colorado Springs, and across the state.

Standing for Truth

Our work as Christians doesn’t stop at the ballot box, though. Through Culture Impact Teams, churches can address issues in their communities and stand for biblical truth in the public square.

One of the largest life groups at Church For All Nations is called “Understanding the Constitution.” Ken Davis, who leads the Culture Impact Team at CFAN, also teaches a course in the Charis Bible College Practical Government School. Ken started the Constitution life group in 2012 to increase his knowledge of our nation’s most important document, and thought other Christian patriots might also be interested.

Since then, Ken’s group runs three times a year and averages more than 60 people each session. He went from wondering whether issues were constitutional to teaching others about the Constitution. That’s moving from being a victim to a victor!

Friends, the enemy is using all sorts of things to try and defeat us—to separate us from the love of Christ (Rom. 8:35)—but we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us (Rom. 8:37).

It’s time we sound the alarm – not just about the negative things going on in our nation, but also about what God is doing. This has actually been a time of growth for the body of Christ. If we stand strong as victors, we will see America preserved as “one nation under God.”
