U.S. House Session & The Bible November 30, 2018 | Richard Harris This week our government leaders stood on the U.S. House floor and reminded Americans of the critical importance of the Bible! Yes, you read that correctly. In spite of the repeated rhetoric and hostility toward anything related to Christianity, the Bible was honored as foundational to our country. In 1941, President Franklin Roosevelt declared National Bible Week to encourage Americans to read the Bible as a source of hope and encouragement. Since then, every President has declared the week of Thanksgiving as National Bible Week. This week, Congressman Doug Lamborn and several Congressional Prayer Caucus members hosted a Special Order commemorating National Bible Week, affirming our Judeo-Christian heritage and the Bible’s impact on the American way of life. Congressman Mike Johnson boldly dispelled misconceptions about the use of the Bible in public school classrooms here. You can watch the hour-long event by clicking here and viewing the footage from 45 – 1:45. Mainstream media won’t share this story – it’s up to us to take a bold stand for faith beside these courageous leaders. Forward this to your friends and family who should hear about the commitment of our government leaders to keep God, faith, prayer and the Bible in the public square.
