Andrew Wommack is president of the Truth & Liberty Coalition. He and other influential Christian leaders formed the Truth & Liberty Coalition to make a difference in culture by speaking about moral issues and dealing with current events.

One of the things that has made my work in ministry such an awesome experience is the people God has brought to us. It’s not just one person who does all the work – it’s the Body of Christ.

When our worship leader, Daniel Amstutz, came on staff at Charis Bible College, he asked me, “Well, what do you want me to do?” And I said, “You’re the one who’s anointed to do praise and worship. You don’t tell me what to preach, and I won’t tell you what to sing.”

That’s one of the things that makes a good ministry work. God brings people together that are already anointed instead of just letting one person try to do everything. I can’t do the work of people who are anointed to create stage plays and musicals, produce television programs, and lead praise and worship. God just brings people to our ministry who know how to do these things.

I held meetings at Pastor Greg Mohr’s church in Decatur, Texas, for about 20 years. He had an awesome church, but then he left to join our ministry.

Pastor Greg came to me and said, “I love being here and I love what I’m doing – and if you tell me differently, I’ll stay where I am for the rest of my life and never complain – but I really feel called to work at Charis.”

Since then, he’s been involved with Charis Bible College, our World Outreach ministry, Charis Alumni, the third-year Ministry School, and now he’s the executive director of our Association of Related Ministries International (ARMI), which offers support and encouragement to ministers.

Just since he took the lead of ARMI, we’ve increased 50 percent in one year to nearly 1,000 ministries. We had an ARMI meeting recently, and it was awesome. We are beginning to impact the world because Pastor Greg is doing things I can’t do by myself.

It’s just awesome to see God assembling different callings and ministries together. It’s what has allowed us to have the kind of impact we’ve had.

But the Body of Christ, by and large, has not been functioning as a unit. Because of that, we are not making the impact we should.

During this last year, with COVID restrictions, we had to change the way we do things. We ended up doing a lot of ministry by online live stream. We hosted 130 more live streams in 2020 than we did in 2019, and we’re doing even more than that in 2021. Earlier this year, I had conferences on opposite sides of the world – one in Indonesia and one in France – without ever leaving Colorado!

I praise God that through technology we are still able to connect, but there’s a difference between just being together and being assembled.

Hebrews 10:24-25 says, “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

I was ministering recently in Durant, Oklahoma, at Pastor Duane Sheriff’s Victory Life Church. I took a 9 mm bullet, held it up, and asked the crowd, “Who’s afraid of this?”

Nobody was afraid of it.

I said, “If I threw this bullet and hit somebody, it might make a little ding for a second, but it’s not going to kill you.”

Then, Pastor Duane came up with a box full of pistol pieces and assembled a gun while I was talking. Once all the pieces were put together and the bullet was loaded, it was totally different. Now that bullet was powerful.

All the pieces to create something powerful were already there, but they weren’t assembled.

It’s the same with people, especially the Body of Christ. There is a difference between just being in a room together and being assembled – where every part is doing what they are called to do.

The Gospel is like a bullet – it’s the power of God. But if you are just presenting it individually, without the power of all the parts of the Body coming together, you might have a relatively small effect on people.

The reason our nation is going in a negative direction is because of the division in the Body of Christ. We’ve got to assemble as a body. Every one of us has a part to play.

We need the Body of Christ to assemble and begin changing our nation. We are the single largest voting bloc in America. If Christians would just vote we could start to see things turn around.

But there are also opportunities to run for office – especially at the local level. Here in Colorado, we have local control over the schools in our communities. If we could get Bible-believing Christians to sit on school boards, we could start saying “no” to some of these ungodly policies that expose children to pornographic materials and critical race theory in curriculums.

I believe we’re at a tipping point in the United States. The Lord told me we are in the Third Great Awakening in America, and I’m encouraged, but the Body of Christ has to assemble if we want to have an impact.

If Christians will just rise up, fulfill the calling of God on their lives, and take a stand for the Gospel, we will see things change.
